From then on, he loved the rabbit very, very much. They became close. The boy built a new house in his bed for the rabbit, and he would take it outside. They were so happy together.

　　从此，他就非常非常喜欢绒毛兔，还和它成了非常亲密的朋友。他在床上给它安了一个新家，还经常带它出去玩。他们在一起非常开心。 　　

　　His mum would say to him, "Don’t so fancy it and make all that fuss over a toy!"

　　他妈妈常常对他说：“别这样迷恋一只玩具！” 　

　　“It's not a toy, mummy. It's REAL!”said the boy. And, hearing that, the rabbit felt good knowing that it had at last become REAL.

　　“它不是玩具，妈妈！它是真的！”小男孩说。听到这些，绒毛兔感到非常高兴，它知道它终于变成了“真的”。 　

　　Later，the boy became very ill and he could no longer go outside and play in the sun. He just slept all day with the velveteen rabbit instead. And the rabbit was very sad.

　　后来，小男孩生病了,再也不能出去玩耍了。他就整天和绒毛兔一起睡觉。绒毛兔非常伤心。
